The Department of OS&OT is proud to announce that Dr. Jill Zwicker is a recipient of the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar Award! This highly competitive award for new investigators provides Jill with 5-years of salary support to launch her program of research in the area of developmental coordination disorder (DCD).
Jill’s research will focus on increasing awareness and improving outcomes for children with DCD in British Columbia. Her comprehensive research program spans four projects in the areas of diagnosis, prevention, rehabilitation, and service delivery. Using advanced brain imaging, Jill will examine neural correlates of DCD and whether rehabilitation can change brain structure/function and improve outcomes of children with this disorder.
