For more than 20 years, Kim Calsaferri has made a significant and enduring contribution to the development of health policy, leadership and governance in British Columbia through her work as the
Community Mental Health Services (VCMHS). She has been, and continues to be, a visionary and instrumental in bringing psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) and recovery policy and perspective to the forefront of an often medically-focused health care system. Moreover, Kim has the revolutionary achievement of spearheading numerous initiatives that bring consumers and families’ voices and input to effect positive change to the health care system regarding mental health treatment and recovery. She has been passionate about, and dedicated to building relationships which bring together people with mental illness, families, and mental health professionals to share talents, skills and experiences to build a better mental health system.
